Gleaning is the process of picking fruits and vegetables that are left behind after farmers sell their produce. The excess produce many times is dumped in landfills. Fortunately SOSA and the Eendhunger network coordinate with volunteers to help glean and salvage the produce in the fields and orchards.
Since this past December members of the Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society and French Honor Society have been volunteering and helping feed the hungry in the Jacksonville area.
Next week we will be gleaning broccoli in Hastings. Everyone is welcome to come. Everyone fills out the attached waiver form for SOSA. All students must also fill out a parent consent form and give it to Señora Orduña.
